![]() ![]() Having only a 5-10% dodge chance after leveling up felt ‘eh’ and a bit too rng in 2, but by 3 you’re boosting up to points where I felt like dodge/resist talents were finally worthwhile. In 3, I feel like trinkets, talents and heroic titles really came into their own - talents felt more impactful (especially when combined with +rank trinkets). So even though I liked the new mechanics, the addition of a second ability and the different talent choices, by the end the combat really hurts my enjoyment of the story. I even used a guide for my second playthrough to maximize renown and was still underleveled by the end and it makes fights incredibly unpleasant. Somehow in 2, renown dwindles and I wound up with my entire team around level 8, with a smattering of 9s and like 1-2 level 10s, and from what I can tell the only way to get your roster to 10 is to either cheese renown in a couple fights where it’s infinite or only keep a combat roster of 3-4 units rather than the designed 6, which to me is unfun because I love the sheer variety of different talents and abilities. ![]() In 1 I was able to naturally and comfortably get all my main units to level 4 and probably about half of them to 5. The main reason I’ve only played through 2 twice (versus like 8 times for 1) is that I can never figure out what I’m doing wrong yet I always felt underleveled by the end. dragging and wasting time.Ģ adds a lot of variety and tactics, and 3 with the ocmbination of talents, skills and titles, plus wave attacks forcing you to use your backline? It's actually fun! I understand that the combat is decesive, but especially in the first part: the optimal way to play was. Even in Hard you just have to do things in a more optimal fashion, not really different. BS1 combat was bland, the combat very simple and easy to optimize, and the scenarios were not that interesting. BS2 I feel it suffers from the poor horseborn plot and some parts that drag quite a bit, even if some parts are some of the best of the series, like the bridge.Īs far as gameplay goes, no doubt 3-2-1. It also has some great choices, like the bridge, the baby or the arrow. The first entry was very very nicely put together and almost all moments are great. what happens it's Arberrang manages just fine? He's a great deal in the plot but there's no word on him after). Furthermore some of them lack a proper epilogue (Rugga in particular, while he dies in a desperate attempt when Arberrang it's about to die. While the last entry of the trilogy has great lore, manages to solve in a great way the massive amount of decisions, and has great moments, some characters suffer and don't have much time and their development is very little. ![]()
